私は、加賀の色が大好きです。何とも言えない暖かさを感じます。そして格別な重厚さを感じます。若い頃より加賀の色を目指して参りました。そして、一人の職人が、最後まで一人で制作する姿勢も共感します。真糊を使った本友禅も繊細の中に、柔らかさを表現します。全ては気候に恵まれていると思います。他の土地では、決してできません。そんな訳で能登の輪島に作業場を作ろうとしておりましたが、あの地震で、計画が止まってしまいました。

I love Kaga's colors. I feel an indescribable warmth. And it feels exceptionally heavy. I have been aiming for the colors of Kaga since I was young. I also sympathize with the attitude of a single craftsman who works alone until the end. Hon Yuzen using true glue also expresses softness in its delicacy. I think everything is due to the climate. You can't do that anywhere else. That's why I was planning to set up a workshop in Wajima, Noto, but that plan came to a halt due to the earthquake.

The works I create are not yuzen, but hon yuzen. Yuzen is a rubber itome, and Hon-Yuzen is a paste itome using mochi flour.
